  ADMISSION PROCEDURE

15.1 General

(i) Before the start of an academic session or a course, press advertisements are issued inviting applications for admission. Information is also given on University Website. Applications must be made in the prescribed form available at the Institute office. The application for admission is considered when it is complete and all relevant papers are submitted in time with fees. Candidates have to enclose only attested copies of certificates with the application form.

(ii) The admission procedure requires the candidates to present himself / herself for a written test and /or personal interview as may be stipulated from time to time. Previous years question papers are on the website / in the Library.

(iii) The Institute sets up an Admission Committee to devise the admission procedure, screen applications and finalise the selection of candidates. The committee decides on the nature of tests to be conducted for determining the suitability of the candidate for the course. Admission panels conduct tests and interviews.

(iv) The objective of admission tests and personal interview is to assess the candidate’s aptitude and suitability for the profession. Since the medium of instruction is English, the admission tests seek to ascertain the student’s proficiency in English language. The decision of the panel for admissions is final.

(v) Selected candidates have to produce original copies of HSC/graduate degree certificates along with the certificates of birth date, school leaving/transference certificate before paying fees.

(vi) Initial admission applies only to the first semester. Admitted students are expected to maintain registration until the completion of the course, to the satisfaction of the Institute.

(vii) Reservation of seats for reserved category candidates for admission is available as per University / Government of Maharashtra norms. Candidates have to supply complete and correct documents to avail of these.

(viii) Government of India Scholarships and Free-ship schemes are available for reserved category candidates. Candidates are advised to bring their caste certificate, income certificate, relocation certificate and such documents specified with changes from time to time as required by Social and Welfare Department and Project Cell: S.T. to apply for the Scholarship and Freeship schemes. These forms should be completed to take benefit of taking admission paying only minimum fees. Candidates who do not produce correct certificates will have to pay full fees. Students can apply for scholarship schemes under minorities scheme also.

(ix) Select needy open and reserved category candidates may apply for assistance under VC scheme, when announced.
 

15.2 GUIDELINES TO RESERVED CATEGORY STUDENTS

(SC, ST, DT, NT, SBC, OBC) Reservation of Seats: may change with government of Maharashtra orders.Presently it is as below: SC 13%, ST 7%, DTA 3%, NTB 2.5%, NTC 3.5%, NTD 2%, OBC 19%. Women reservation 30%

3% for : 1)Wards of a) Central /State Govt. Employee's(transfer cases) / b) Defence personnel c) Freedom Fighter, 2) Widow / Divorcee female 3) Physically /Visually challenged 4) Outstanding performance in Sports & Cultural Activities (national /state level)
Reservation of seats for reserved category for admission is available as per University norms. Candidates have to supply complete and correct documents to avail of these.

1. Caste certificate in the name of candidate.
2. Primary school leaving certificate of student, father, grandfather, uncle (paternal).
3. Satbara Utara ( Extract of 7,7 A & 12)

Reserved Category students should apply for GOI Scholarship / Free ship in the prescribed form with all documents in original (only full time PG. & UG Courses). The students have to apply Online on the website http://mahaeschol.maharashtra.gov.in/escholarship/login.aspx If the application enclosed is correct and complete they are eligible to take admission on by giving only following fees :
Under Graduate students

Students should note that all these documents should be produced at the time of Admission therwise they will have to pay full fees and are not eligible for freeship or scholarship as the case may be.
Students seeking GOI scholarship only, will be paid their maintenance in their bank account, to be opened in The Corporation Bank, Kalina Branch as per Social Welfare Department guidance.
 

15.3 GUIDELINES TO ALL STUDENTS SEEKING ADMISSION TO VARIOUS UNDER-GRADUATE AND POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES CONDUCTED BY GARWARE INSTITUTE
Information For Applicants.
Note: Candidates are requested to read and follow the information carefully
(1) The Application Form duly completed and affixed with a passport size photograph is to be submitted along with a fee of Rs.100/- for under-graduate course and Rs.150/- for post-graduate course, in cash at the cash counter. Collect your Admission card for Entrance Test & Interview from cash counter with receipt of admission fee. The candidate should bring this card when coming for Entrance Test & Interview.
The following attested photo copies of documents should be enclosed with Application Form.
For Under-Graduate Course
(a) Mark Sheet of HSC & Leaving Certificate.
(b) Experience Certificate if required
(c) Graduates students from Mumbai University should submit mark sheet of
graduation.
For Post-Graduate Course
(a) Mark sheet of F.Y, S.Y, and T.Y.
(b) Passing Certificate
(c) Experience Certificate if required
(d) Date of Birth Certificate
Students awaiting results of graduate degree examination can also apply for admission provided proof for appearing in final examination (Hall Ticket) is submitted. The entrance test and interview of the candidate will be conducted. However, fees for admission will be accepted subject to submission of graduation mark sheet.
(2) Students can take up certain courses given below simultaneously as follows
(a) Under Graduate Courses (can be done with graduate studies)
(i) Diploma in Foreign Trade Management
(ii) Diploma in Custom Clearance & Freight Forwarding.
(iii) Diploma in Retailing
(b) Post Graduate Course (can be done with post graduate studies)
(i) Diploma in Computer Programming & System Analysis.
(ii) Diploma in Hospital Management & Health Care.
(iii) Diploma in Communication & Journalism (English, Marathi, Hindi)
(iv) Diploma in Insurance Administration.
(V) Diploma in Advertising and Media
(VI) Diploma in Business Management
(3) All Courses will be conducted subject to availability of at least 20 students securing admission for the same, failing which the Institute holds the right to defer the course and refund the tuition fees to the students.

(4) Form fees / entrance test fees once paid will not be refunded.
(5) The student will be qualified for admission to the Diploma Course only after passing the entrance test and securing the required marks/grades in the interview.
(6) The Candidates have to appear for Entrance Test & Interview producing their I-Card. A Time Table for which will be put up on Notice Board. A Candidate who fails to appear for the test and the Interview will be marked absent & disqualified. No enquiries on this aspect are entertained. A Merit list of selected candidates is put up from time to time. Candidates should complete admission process & pay fees before the date & time stipulated in the selection list. Waiting list is put up after the completion of main list. Candidates should keep track of Notice Board for this. A Candidate not turning up and does not take up admission by last date will forfeit his chance of admission.

All papers are sent for verification to respective issuing authorities. Candidates will have to pay document verifications fee of the University whose degree is taken by candidate and fees demanded by the concerned authority.

(8) UNIVERSITY CIRCULARS ARE REPRODUCED BELOW:-
CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION & REFUND OF FEES FOR PG COURSES: 0.3574: CIRCULAR NO.: UG/253 OF 1996 DATED 28/05/1996.
a] The registration fee once paid for the Post Graduate course will not be refunded for any reason.
b] The tuition fee paid by a candidate for the course in which he is registered as a Post Graduate student will be refunded to him / her if he/she leaves the said course without attending any lectures, seminars or practicals, subject to a deduction of 25% of the tuition fee only there from the administrative charges. An application by the candidate for such refund will only be entertained if it is received by the Registrar / Head of the University Department within fifteen days from the date of commencement of the lectures of the academic year in which the fee is paid.
c] The tuition fee paid by a candidate for the course in which he is registered as a Post Graduate student will be refunded to him if he leaves the said course and joined the another course of this University for which he applied at the same time and the selection for the new course of this University is made later, subject to a deduction of 25% of the tuition fee only there from for administrative charges. An application by the candidate for such refund will only be entertained if it is received by the Registrar / Head of the University Department within fifteen days from the date of his paying tuition fee for the new course.

Refund of Tuition, Development and all other fees after cancellation of admissions:
The candidates who have taken admission in Under Graduates courses in Govt. Colleges, In Govt. aided and unaided courses conducted by affiliated colleges and recognized Institutions may request for refund of fees after applying in writing for cancellation of their admission to the course. The refund of fees as applicable shall be made on or before 30th day after the date

of cancellation and thereafter. The percentage of fee for the course shall be refunded to the candidate after deducting charges as follows:

NOTE: The total amount considered for the refund of fees from the commencement of
academic term of the courses includes the following:-
i) All the fee items chargeable for one year are as per relevant University circulars for different Faculties (excluding the courses for which the total amount is fixed by other competent authorities).
ii) The Fee charged towards group Insurance and all fee components to be paid as University share (including Vice-Chancellor fund, University fee for sports and cultural activities, E-charge, disaster management fund, exam, fee and Enrollment fee) are non-refundable if payment is made by the college prior to the date of cancellation.
iii) Fee collected for Identity card and Library card, admission form and prospectus, enrollment and any other course specific fee are not refunded after the commencement of the academic term.
iv) All refundable deposits (Laboratory, Caution Money and Library etc.) will be fully returned at the time of cancellation.Provided that wherever admissions are made through centralized admission process for professional and / or for any other courses by other competent Authorities, the Refund Rules are applicable if specified by such authorities (as per the rules of relevant agencies) for the 1st year admission. In case of admission to subsequent years of the course. O.2859 is applicable for cancellation of admission.
Provided further that this refund rule is concurrent with the rules and guideline of other professional statutory bodies appointed for admission for relevant courses.
Further that O. 2859-A & O. 2859-B have been repealed and the amended O.2859 relating to the refund of Tuition Fees, Development and all other fees after cancellation of admission for the Under Graduate
